40 degrees c was not what we had in mind

The opening hike from Irun certainly was beautiful. The climb out of town was up a steep mountain and the climb continued for longer than we anticipated. With stunning views of water on both it was easy to get distracted. This guidebook lacks maps and directions are vague at best. We had come to rely on the many pueblos that we passed through in the caminoFrances.we traded the pueblos for no access to refill our water, running on breakfast for an 8+ hr day and extreme heat. By the time we ended up in San Sebastián, Nina was done. We stopped walking outside of a place that had an alburgue sign and this place was a welcome sanctuary from the heat. Tomorrow we will be better prepared.
