Rescued
Another beautiful day with hot sunshine and I spent some time in the garden, checking on the little hedgehog. I was sure it shouldn't be lying in the sun, it didn't look very well and there were flies buzzing round it so I took it to the hedgehog rescue. Apparently she (it is a little girl hedgehog) is only about 4 weeks old and something must have happened to mum as she shouldn't have been wandering around on her own during the day and will have been hungry and looking for food. She is far too young to make it on her own so after removing all the bluebottle eggs the horrible flies had laid on her, she was put in with some other young orphans to recover. So glad she will be ok, she wouldn't have lasted very long otherwise apparently.
