A summers day in the Highlands
Such a super Summers day after a night of rain and an early morning of a misty Black Isle.
It had cleared and the sun was out by the time Anne picked me up at 7.30am for our trip to the Puffin Pool. The sun remained all day nd it was just the right temperature as there was a cooling breeze and lovely in the shade. It was warm enough and calm enough to have dinner outside on the new picnic bench that Richard bought.
Really enjoying the tennis this year especially the last two days. I did nt want to miss the rest of Heather Watsons game as she was playing so well against Serena Williams. Some excellent tennis by both players and it was so close with Serena just winning in the end.
I wanted to catch the sunset which meant we had to go to the other side
of the Black Isle as the hill prevents us from seeing it set properly. We started at Udale bay and watched a Lapwing flying over our heads and landing in the field opposite us. We walked along the beach at the next bird watching site and then went on to Cromarty. The sun was now getting lower, the first sunset I've really seen this year. I liked the light behind the Peedie Lass , an old boat that sits on the Links.
Beautiful sky with pink clouds on the way back home :)
