SINGING SQUIRREL?
Well - not really, but he looked like he was singing into a microphone while balanced on the back of the lawn chair. A strange phenomenon happened again this year with the squirrels - one generation disappears while a new set takes over. Early last spring, several older squirrels were familiar enough that they would come running when they'd hear me toss out a handful of peanuts. I could actually feed a couple of them by hand. Then about a month ago, a new 'crop' of younger, thinner squirrels showed up - and the older ones were never to be seen again. The new ones are afraid, and run away when they hear me open the door to toss the nuts - then they gradually learn it's a good thing. Since the same thing happened last year, I wonder, in the hierarchy of the squirrel world, if the younger set simply takes over and chase the old squirrels away.
Happy 'Squirrel Blip Friday' everyone!
