Mowing

A contractor mowed the rest of the grass. I think that's the fanciest mower I have seen in action! We have usually had some of the first cut grass baled for our own use and to be sold, but this time there was more left than usually after the pasture needed so far, filling the silage pits and making some dry hay. I think I can get enough round bale silage from the second cut, so it was a practical solution to sell the remaining grass.

We continued baling the dry hay. There was thicker grass in the fields baled today, so they needed the extra day to dry as well as yesterday's fields. There's still some left for tomorrow. It should be quite dry then!
