Dutton Meadows
Our batteries have felt flat today after the busyness of last week.
So this afternoon, after lots of catching up at home, we went for a short walk along the River Weaver and then back along the Trent and Mersey Canal. Always enjoyable, the vegetation has grown phenomenally since early May when we last visited. Birds still singing, great to see families of reed warblers.
The blip is of the main west coast line crossing the Weaver Valley and Dutton Meadows nature reserve on a massive red sandstone viaduct. Plenty of trains flying by. The pond here is I think part of the old river before it was straightened and canalised.
I love this walk. Not spectacular, just always interesting.
