The Fleet Line

Another super hot day but we spent the core of it in the London Underground. This however was not your regular visit.

We were on an excursion into the disused (since the Jubilee line was extended to Canary Wharf etc.) part of Charing Cross station. We got to go down to the old platforms, under Trafalgar Square in a construction tunnel and disappearing into parts of the station normal travellers wouldn't know were there. At one point we were looking down on the Northern Line platfrom from above without anyone knowing we were there. Some of these areas have featured in tv and film including Spooks, James Bond and Paddington the Movie!! The scene blipped featured in Skyfall where Daniel Craig slides down the metal bit between the escalators. We didn't get to try that out however.
