Late Evening Seed Snack

I have been working in the garden for seven hours today and spent half the time just clearing nettles, brambles and weeds. It was far too warm to wear long sleeves or trousers so I have been stung and scratched all over my arms and legs.

I was on the lookout for birds and butterflies in the warm sunshine but they all gave the garden a wide berth. Fortunately a couple of goldfinches decided to dine on nijer seeds for supper. The light was low and the birds didn't hag around for too long so I can only apologise for the quality of the photo.

BTW I did wear shorts.
