You thought of me once
As a forever friend
You saw me as faithful
I saw you as brother

Time and age catches us though
Leaves marks and aches
Where once was smoothness
And flexible ease

Suddenly you have doubts
Your time doesn't stretch
My problems are now my own
Rather than those of ours

You look instead to a future
With a new, younger steed
A ride with greater comfort
A warmth I could never give

Who has the time for my aches

Someone who once was you
