Cormorant

Another in an occasional series of Porty birdlife. Taken from the beach this afternoon. Unexpectedly bumped into three old friends on the Prom. Well, not surprising to see R, as she lives in Porty too and since L and I moved here, we/I have seen R out and about every so often. But K and J who were with her are both people I've probably not seen in a couple of decades. All three were classmates of my ex, M, back at Uni and had been part of a gathering from their class cohort this weekend celebrating thirty years since their graduation. (M wasn't able to make it this time so she wasn't with them.) At one time or another back then we enjoyed the hospitality of all three. Pretty sure we stayed over with K in her flat in Glasgow at least once - I remember travelling back from Glasgow in a car with her listening to folk music - and definitely stayed with her in London. J too put us up in London, and R was host on a trip to Prague while she was working there. Although J is still in London, K now lives in Edinburgh too, after years travelling the globe with work. Maybe our paths will cross again sometime. On my way back along the beach saw R again, on her way back from the shops and talked a little more, reminiscing about that trip to Czechoslovakia (as it was then, back before the wall came down).
