Text from the conservatory company late last night to say they will start on Tuesday. Not impressed as we had previously been told Monday. Two issues, rain is forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, so that's 1 day of good weather this week lost and secondly, I cancelled a dental appointment to be here for them today. If my teeth fall out, they can pay for replacements. Something in bright white UPVC.

Took the plunge and booked a 5 day break in New York in the run up to Xmas. Depart on the 18th and return on the 24th. The return bit is a nightmare as we land at Heathrow at 09:30, have to drive home, pack the car and then drive 220 miles to Darlington. Diana is likely to feel unwell after the flight and I will be tired as I don't sleep on long haul flights. Xmas day may be a quiet affair - everyone will be jet lagged.
