A little piece of history

When the old cast iron bath was taken out, this piece of brown paper was found at the back.

It was obviously the wrapping from a parcel sent to this house probably about 60 years ago at least.

It is addressed to Mrs. Begbie who lived here in the 1930's

It has an address label from a bootmaker in Glasgow and has a shilling stamp with King George VI's head on it ,and you can see the red spot which is the wax which sealed the string round the parcel.
