The Big Cruise Day 38: Tommy

Continuing northwards, amongst the ever-gathering hills approaching the High Peak, we came to the junction with the Peak Forest Canal at Marple. Turning left would have taken us down the steep hill again to Manchester. But we turned right and passing under the first bridge, came upon this gentleman. "Do you mind if I take your picture?" "What's your name?" "Tommy", he said. "Thanks", I said. And we had passed by.

Now we have the High Peak, the White Peak, the Pennines in view. We are at 518 feet - the second highest navigable canal in the Country.

[Explanation: Big Cruise Blips begin on 9th April (where there's an introduction) and last nearly 8 weeks with a break in the middle. I am catching up with the back-blipping]
