The Ivy

Unfortunately not the restaurant in Town!!!  This comes over the fence from next door and every year we have to cut it down.  As far as I know it is called Virginian Creeper.  It smothers everything in sight and its hard work keeping it under control.  My daughter is struggling here cutting it down without ruining next doors.  It creeps up the walls to the top of the building if we leave it and its not even ours.  Last year we just hacked at it and apparently we killed off lots of their precious vines ooops.  We are trying to be careful but really its awful.  In the second picture you can see a Rose tree that we have carefully exposed from the Ivy.  We didn't finish the job down the whole wall so will have to have another go next weekend :-)  Rain stopped play and it was quite a bit cooler today.
