Seafood Extravaganza
Oysters are farmed in Kachemak Bay, Homer (where I went on Friday) We prepare them by putting 6 in the microwave, set it for 1 minute, and as soon as one opens up, take it out. Perfectly cooked in its bath of salty sea water, the flavor of these oysters is sweet and delicate. They were the first course of the birthday seafood extravaganza that my husband made for me.
After the oysters we had wine, then he grilled sea scallops. Then Mexican prawns, then a small beef tenderloin. Mango ice cream and mezcal.
All this great food is worth being a year older!
