Ready for take-off

I feel very guilty about my lack of commenting but thank you so much for dropping by and showering my pictures with stars and hearts.

A very early morning walk with a friend who has just moved to our patch and doesn't know her way around the spinney.  We were lucky that it had just stopped raining before we set off.

I nipped back into the orchard as I had seen this Marbled White sitting on a thistle and was lucky it was still there and so co-operative.  I really wanted to photograph it from the front for a change, so hope you like it.  The wings aren't as sharp as I would have liked but I love it's fur coat. It looks better in large.

My extra really is very tiny, smaller than a 1p piece and is the pupae stage between the lavae and emerging as a Ladybird.
