Rose...
...And sky the bluest of blue.
Straight from the camera.
(Yes. I am in a rush, as it happens!).
I didn't have much sleep.
(Less than normal, which is not a lot at the best of times - on the whole that appears to work. Some people, they say (not to compare myself with a certain lady of iron, Heaven forbid) really don't need much sleep).
Last night, however, I blame a crane fly. The offending creature lay low in the bedroom until I was actually lying down, when it appeared doing that 'crane fly boogey'; the low down, near the floor laid back one.
Crane flies are a little bit too much like spiders for my liking.
I couldn't see it after reading, so turned out the light... Which is when it decided to land on me and go 'zzz'. To say I was 'jarred' is probably an understatement. (I did apparently emit a fairly blood-curdling noise).
All lights back on, and then I couldn't find it (to invite it into the garden).
I think it had probably heard, on the fly grapevine, about my earlier escapade with a hoverfly. I'd been minding my own business in my own kitchen.. A hoverfly came and landed on the arm of my chair.
'Hello', I said. (Because I'm quite friendly that way).
'Hello', (I'm assuming this) it replied.
Me: 'Would you like to go outside now?'
It: (further assumption).. 'Probably'..
Me: 'Well then, here's my little finger. Climb on and I'll take you out'.
It: 'OK then'.
It climbed on, and stayed on, while I unlocked the door (with the other hand) and flew away when we were outside.
It was all a very pleasant communion one way and another.
Shame I can't bring myself to bond in the same way with crane flies.
(I still haven't found it.
Hope tonight is uneventful :-/
