Diary of an Edinburgher

Good news and bad news

Brilliant Djokovic/Anderson game last night! We had visitors for lunch today, so I recorded the fifth set, avoided any news, and sat down to replay the finish of the match as soon as the visitors had gone. And what had the BBC gone and done? They changed the game to another channel - it was not recorded!! I was not best pleased.

Good news re the malfunctioning camera... It has got a two year warranty. Phew!! And it's just within the time. Thank you, the Saint of all Warranties.

Visitors today, ex-colleagues. Great to catch up with two wonderful Learning Assistants (I think they are called something different now), one of whom was a great support to me when I took over 'The Class from Hell'. I would not have survived without her. They both still work in schools in the area, so have kept in touch with the kids as they move up to high school. Or not. We reminisced about the more memorable children.

She's had a baby.
He's a dad.
So's he.

.

All of them now aged about 16...

Actually, sad news that one young lad had died suddenly, aged 14.

Archie went off for an afternoon run up The Hill with Bailey. They have such fun together. Bailey and her mum have just been in for a coffee, and the two dogs played and played and played.

We took off the rusted chicken wire that has adorned the gate since Archie's arrival. I don't think he can get through, him being a sturdy wee specimen. He's too scaredy anyway, he wouldn't even try!

PS Lots of dishes today.

Dishwasher still not working...
