Rusty Chain

Revisiting one of my favorite subjects, rust, on my kayak trip around the bay this morning. There are less than a half dozen sailboats in the harbor this time of year. They have been around since the high season and are starting to show the effects of our corrosive climate. This bowsprit chain for example is nicely colored and textured - from my perspective anyway, I wouldn't be quite so happy if I was the owner. I worked hard from my bobbing kayak to get the composition where I wanted it, but it still required a little post processing adjustment to position the hull exactly in the corner.
