EBBERSTON STATION

Welcome to Ebberston Station – originally called Wilton Station until 1903 – which opened in 1882. It was run by the North Eastern Railway and closed to passengers in 1950.

The Forge Valley Railway ran from Pickering to Scarborough via Seamer, was a single track with passing places. So pleasing to see this station in good condition.

Beware . . . another landmark has been achieved . . . the Cycling Record has been broken again ! Tony and I managed most of the route from Ayton to Pickering, following the Forge Valley Line . . . so the total now stands at 33.5 miles !

Only managed it with the help of scones and coffee at the Ellerburn Café !
