British Speedway Grand Prix 2015
So here we are again. The 2015 British Speedway Grand Prix at the Millennium Stadium. It is always a highlight of the year for me.#
It is simply one of the best sporting events in the country, the atmosphere all day is electric, and it is such a face paced sport in all aspects. The twenty qualifying heats just seem to fly by.
The track was one of the best we have had for a while, although this did mean it did come down the starts, and the only criticism was Gate One seem to have too much of an advantage, with most of the race winners coming from there.
As always we were hoping for the Brits to do well, and they by and large did. Craig Cook started proceedings with a race win that got the place bouncing. Poor old Bomber Harris had a poor evening by contrast. Tai Woffinden sandwiched two last places with five race wins, so my wait for being there when a Brit won the home Grand Prix goes on. Heat 19 was a belter, with several changes of lead in the one minute the race takes to run.
All in all, not the greatest nights racing but still a fantastic event. It was made all the more fun this year with my sis-in-law taking up the spare ticket and coming for the first time .. she had a whale of a time, and is a big fan of motorcycle sport.
We finished the evening with a nice Italian in town before coming home.
This is my fifth Grand Prix blog on here .. feel free to look back the others below.
