Ramblings from Zambia....

Happiness.....

What a day!  I drove to Karonga this morning with visitors.  We left at 7am and arrived at the village just before 11am.  The visitors were part of a team who came in 2008 and helped to build an early childhood centre.  Since that there was a severe earthquake which flattened most of the village but the ECD centre stood strong with only a few cracks.

I had alerted the village and we had a great welcome.  We saw the church and the school and clinic as well as the church.  We had lunch with the minister and his family, and then went to visit some of the community in their homes.  We reached our B&B after dark, exhausted!

This lady is the mother of my Early Childhood Development Trainer in Karonga - such a happy lady with sparkling eyes!  She does not speak one word of English so all communication was through an interpreter!  I think the visitors had fun too!
