It's Coming to a Halt

The train into London was quiet for me (Chris) this morning. Perhaps many people didn't want to face the consequences of staff strike action on both London Underground and First Great Western which kicked off early this evening. I left much earlier than usual and it was already super busy. As I walked between Baker Street and Marylebone this McLaren powered past but then came to a rapid halt at the traffic lights. Still, I'm sure he got home before me!

A sad evening for Annie as she took the reluctant step of standing down as chair of governors of a local special school. With her current levels of travel for work it just wasn't possible to continue. She's had the post for 5 years and in that time seen it go from a school in special measures and with debt, to a vibrant, Good-rated school back in the black. The headmaster and all of the staff are fantastic and she'll miss working with them, the other governors and the pupils. It's been a hugely rewarding experience; please consider volunteering as schools always need good governors.
