No doubting it this morning. 100% chickenpox.

We did get out of the house for a bit - to the chemist for ViraSoothe (the modern answer to itchy spots) and the rec which was pleasingly deserted but soggy. He resisted doing any painting but happily played with trains, splashed boats in the sink and helped bake buns.

Didn't want any food at all at teatime though despite still happy to play. Not even a bun!

And all that splashing over time is making our poor bathroom carpet smell of damp. Must work out what to do about that.

Daddy day off tomorrow and I'm going in on a Thursday for once so as to use up some of his leave as well as mine.
