A Valued Customer
The new resident female bellbird made frequent visits to the veranda feeder today. This is a very poor shot, but the light was grim. The feeder consists of a horseshoe-shaped amber glass vase containing sugar water, with a small glass dish of fat in the semicircle. Waxeyes love both, but the bellbird doesn’t bother with the fat.
The snow held off until this morning. It was light and didn’t quite cover the grass. Before lunch it had turned to rain. It was a dark, wet, miserable winter’s day. The high was 2.4ºC.
Today I bought a new fridge-freezer by telephone. Since I want a left-hand hinge, which is not standard, I might have to wait a couple of weeks for it to come from the manufacturer.
