Poets' society
The first show of the summer was a rather low-key event. A poetry-writing group from Narbonne read a series of poems all related to wine and wine-making. Sod's law, after days on end when it was still 25C at 9 p.m., a lively north-west cers had got up, making the reading somewhat challenging -- many clothes pegs were required to hold pages in place and even then they kept blowing away. Sadly, the audience in the amphitheatre (seats 300) consisted of about thirty people prepared to brave the wind. I have to say the poems, while well performed and put together, didn't really float my boat -- too flowery. It wasn't a very photogenic event either, hence this perfunctory blip.
Earlier, a meeting about our art weekend -- it's coming together! Just a couple of weeks to go.
