Off road driving in the Azores

1st bit of real wifi of our holiday.......Monday we booked an off road jeep tour of the island (Azores) what a fantastic experience......❤️ "To boldly go where no man has gone before"...... Well that is what it felt like......!!! The roads are very narrow in the towns.....(I mean frighteningly narrow...Dangerous to both pedestrians and especially wing mirrors.....But that's tomorrow's drama)....!!
We firstly went up to Santa Barbara (No not that one) Black volcanic sand, but it was raining quite hard which was a shame....Then we went to the Fire Lake (fogo) it was shrouded in mist/rain and could not be seen.....So in a moment of madness we all climbed/slid down the crater to get a closer look....Hubby and I got half way down before calling it a day...(Knee problems - Going back up was a bit of a challenge)... The rest of the party made it down just as the clouds parted and the magnificent lake showed its self....❤️ Lunch at a traditional taverna was amazing.....We finished the 10hr tour at the fantastic crater lakes with one lake green and one blue which is my Blip for today......Xx
