Bremen
What a lovely city!
Just the right size for exploring in a short time. We walked into the centre and had a look around the ornate buildings in the market place. We sheltered from the heavy showers! We wandered down Bötterstrasse and admired the lovely shops including the sweetie shop with the most enormous lollipops.
Next stop (after buying our Bremen card) was to head for the Universum Bremen, the science centre. We took the tram to the silvery whale shaped building and spent a couple of hours trying everything out.
Back to the centre and a wee Prosecco in a very smart little wine bar followed by a fabulous Italian meal at a wee restaurant called Gallo Nero - definitely worth a visit if ever in Bremen. The waiter/owner just kept bringing us food - platters of starters to share and an amazing platter of desserts when we were having trouble choosing just one.
A leisurely stroll along the banks of the river and eventually finding our way home.
Things to remember about today:-
The dark, dark, dark room at the science centre
A swing for two people but only one person has to make it go
A very friendly waiter and an outstanding meal
