Wild Wolds

A day out in Horncastle and the Wolds today with visits to the Joseph Banks Centre with its incredible botanical garden and Old Bolingbroke Castle, the birthplace of Henry IV.

A kaleidoscope of beautiful colours as we bowled through the countryside - fields of gold, of waving, bearded barley, of spiky, green corn, and of delicate pastel lavender.

An unexpected gorgeous baby muntjac deer in a hedgerow, pheasants in flight, a working waterwheel and a ruined castle looming out of nowhere.

I am intoxicated by the incredible beauty of Lincolnshire today.
