Brush Fire

We had a close call in our neighborhood last evening.  I had commented that I could smell smoke and just thought it was the wild fire up North that I smelled,  well,  it was actually a brush fire in back of our homes down the ravine.  In the picture  the ravine is behind those trees.    The fire was about 150 yards from our homes with lots of smoke and ash.    The fire captain came around and told us to pack a bag incase we needed to evacuate.  One or two  of the families that lived closer up the street were asked to leave.     About 7 pm last night they had the fire under control.  My husband was on the 10 O'clock news on channel 5.  (any one can probably look it up on the internet..   King 5 news. Everett fire.)   He did a great job on the interview.       Sleeping was tough because all you could smell was smoke so I closed our bedroom windows.     This morning 1 fire truck was still here just keeping an eye on things.  24 hours later at least one of the fire trucks are still here.  I would think that they are wrapping it up . As I type the last truck just drove around the corner on his way back to the fire house.   They figure it was started by some homeless people camping out there, but not sure as yet what their findings were.     The air is back to normal today, just sweeping up the ash from last night.
