Lordington Lavender and Wild Flowers, West Sussex
In 2002 Lordington Farm diversified into Lavender as an alternative to dairy farming. Now they open the lavender fields for a few days each summer, very busy with people of all ages walking the rows of lavender. So beautiful, the scent, the views, the bees and butterflies.
Lavender is grown with a care for conservation of habitat and environment – no pesticides or ferilisers are used. It’s a haven for wildlife - the farm has at least 12 red-listed species of birds including skylarks and barn owls. Part of the entry fee goes to St Richard’s hospital
The lavender grown in 4 acres is French Mailette, known for the quality of its oil which is made into products for sale at the farm’s online shop and elsewhere.
In such glorious weather as we have at the moment, feels like a spiritual or healing journey up the hill.
Got home from this marvellous experience to find a very good tumour count result with a trend in the right direction and a good percentage drop in the last 2 months. Not out of the woods yet, but pretty much Heaven!
