I was watching an online travel photography seminar and the presenter was talking about what made a "good" travel photo. His overriding goal when shooting on location is to capture something that is not typically viewed in his home country. My home country is now Mexico, but I still have 50 years of United States conditioning as to what constitutes a normal situation. With that in mind, I don't recall ever seeing anyone walk down a U.S. street with a bag of corn on his/her head. The fact that her dress color matched the color of her bags was a bonus.
