Hungry birds

I love watching the birds in my friend's garden when I go to her dogs.  It was quite hot this afternoon and after I walked them they just lay in the shade whilst I watched the birds.  I got my first horsefly bite of the season whilst I was there despite wearing long sleeves and keeping my hands in my pockets whilst we were in the field..  The blooming thing pounced as soon as I took a hand out a pocket, I'm sure it was waiting for me, it even drew blood and yes its itching like mad.
