Ancestral Theatre?

I spent a lovely few hours with my cousin in Sherborne where we stumbled upon this theatre bearing our family name. We tried to find a bit of information about who the Powell was that this theatre was named after but haven't had any luck.

Never mind, the rain held off for almost our whole outing so we were happy.
