Mums flowers

On my way home from work today popped in to my mums to put her bin out it gets emptied in the morning.On the way round to the back garden I noticed this nice bloom thought it would make a bright blip on such a dull dreary day.

Don't know what kind of flower it is I'm sure Dave or Skyegirl will be able to help me out so I can impress my mum the next time I see her when i will be able to tell her exactly what it is.
