Leaving Russia, with love...

A last shot of one of the many churches of Yaroslavl as we began our long journey home.

The day was mostly filled with a long bus journey and then lots of time in the airport, although a highlight was being taken for lunch at an Uzbekistan restaurant with an old friend who is now a representative at the Russian Parliament. It was wonderful to hear her take on life in Russia right now, and the changes she has seen. A real insight, which was fascinating.

What a wonderful experience this has been. Russia has surprised me in many ways and has made me realise even more how much we need to dig below the surface of things to find out what it real.
