New woodland effect garden
Well, today we spent time prepping the section of garden which is going to be left for nature to enjoy. We cleared twenty wheelbarrow loads of decorative stone from the back section by the shed, re -used it outside the house down the side border and then emptied two "one tonne" dumpy bags of bark into the space. We are acquiring some logs from blipper Gloria in the week and these will be strategically placed in the bark and along the fence.
So natures little bugs, ants - and the birds of course - can root around as they wish.
The shrubs in there are already well settled and the bark will soon mulch down and look as though its been there forever. We've got several bird feeders ready to put out too.
Tomorrow's job is to paint some more fence. A much more natural colour than when we arrived here six months ago. The fence in the picture has had one coat. The rest is very orangy.
I was going to blip a tortoise, two actually, as when we went for a walk this morning one of our neighbours round the corner was out on the grassy bank giving his pets a change of scene. But I was not close enough for a good shot. Not something you see every day!
