Hayle Harbour

Today the sun shone, the sky turned blue and the temperatures finally felt like march June. It was warm enough to swap boots for flip flops and I even got my bingo wings out for a quick flap around in the warm breeze. Proper good mood weather.
Took a walk into town to do a bit of shopping then had a wander around the harbour. At the moment the harbour is a bit crumbly and knackered (and therefore charming!) and is surrounded by wasteland but as is alway the case, the developers have got their mitts on it and it's soon to be 'transformed' - the wasteland (a haven for flora and fauna) will become supermarket, restaurant, hotel etc etc. I sort of suppose that it will be good for the town in some ways but there's always a cost. The thing I love most about my town is that apart from a co-op and little Boots, there are no chain stores or high street names. I worry that when Mr Asda/Sainsbury or whoever it's going to be builds their 'everything under one roof priced lower than the independents' emporium, these little friendly toy shops/cafes/farm shops etc will gradually fade away.
