Man and dog
“He's getting old. I don't count the years. I don't multiply by seven. They bred dogs for everything else, even diving for fish, why didn't they breed them to live longer, to live as long as a man?”
― Peter Heller, The Dog Stars
Saw this pair at the dog park today while my grand-doggie Charlie ran around. They seem so tender - I might make this my next painting. Life is sometimes hard, but our dogs will always love us.
By the way, The Dog Stars was a great read - an apocalyptic tale, not usually what I read - but well done. And a surprisingly tender relationship between the main character and his dog.
