Blue
Tong Park is one of my regular spots for butterflies and I've always thought it should be good Common Blue territory but until today I'd never found one there. And then this solitary female made an appearance from under my feet. I hunted for more, but if there were others they were elusive.
Alongside my first Gatekeepers of the year, there were Meadow Browns, Ringlets, Large Skippers, Small Skippers, Small Heath and Small Tortoiseshell by the score, but the Blue remained the highlight of the day.
