Up the Birks

Had a nice trip to Aberfeldy today.  Been there many times and as is the tradition, stopped off first at the Highland Choclatier first for coffee and cake.  Mmmmmm.  Weirdly though, didn't buy any chocolate.....  Regretted that later on!

Then a lovely walk in the greenery of the Birks.  Had a wee stop at Rabbie who was sitting contemplating the view and writing his poem the Birks of Aberfeldy.  Short picnic at the top as the midgies arrived.  Down the beautiful path and wander into the town for a brief look in The Watermill which used to be our favourite Cafe but now we like The Habitat Cafe at the Square next to the picture house as they very sensibly allow dogs in:-)

They also do very good coffee and cake (although didn't try any they just looked good).  Bonus of allowing dogs in is that neighbouring tables all want to speak about and pet Breagha.  It's far more sociable allowing dogs into a Cafe and the waitresses bring a bowl of water to the table along with a dog biscuit.  They also like to clap the dog too.  If you are in that area pop in, you won't be disappointed!
