Hearts &Flowers

My first double quilt, made for my mother many moons ago, displayed in our church quilt exhibition. It's very strange seeing a quilt spread out like this as you don't usually get this view. The pattern is Irish Chain. All the big squares  have floral hearts appliqued in them and the quilting is a series of interconnecting hearts.

Of all the things a woman's hands have made,
the quilt, so lightly thrown across her bed,
the quilt that keeps her loved ones warm,
is woven of her love and dreams and thread.
