Earth, Murdered But Remembered
Earth was a very out Queer man (he didn't say gay) of my acquaintance back in the 1990s. He was involved in the Radical Faeries scene, and an early and strident activist for LGBT rights.
Earth was murdered in Tennessee in the late '90s, and the cause of death was given as suicide for many years. However, one of Earth's old lovers is now a well-known poet, and a new film about the poet describes Earth's case very thoroughly. It's an awful tale, and it's a serious detective novel waiting to be written.
I attended a small gathering to remember Earth, and I snapped this group picture, which is peppered with many old anarchist friends. Earth's image can be seen in the poster on the wall.
