Back to Mac
The new Mac has arrived! Spent the morning chasing lizards out of the house (again) and stopping up gaps around the front windows upstairs, I think we are hermetically sealed by now, not even the tiniest of ants could get in anywhere. Then I used the biggest angle grinder known by man to cut away excess concrete footings at the barn door so that our little car can be put in there during the winter. When I had finished I looked as if someone had thrown cement dust all over me. N's morning of kitchen cleaning revealed a bottle of 15 year old, artisan made, eau de vie. I tried to open it to have a sniff (that's a sniff, not a snifter), but the cork broke and the stump fell inside the bottle, so I had to decant the full litre temporarily into jugs in order to fish out the cork (using a great method involving a plastic bag, but that's another story). Eventually the eau de vie was poured back into its bottle and re-corked, but the alcoholic fumes (I reckon this stuff is north of 60%) were making me quite high! In the afternoon we visited Peter and Janice for a nice leisurely hour or two and this evening we are toasting the generosity of friends.
