honister pass

the lake district looked better than ever this weekend.
perfect weather. a low sun shining through the golden leaves and lighting the rust coloured bracken. a dusting of snow on the tops like icing sugar.
sweet! (ho ho)

it made me realise that while canada, new zealand and the like might have bigger areas of this sort of thing with higher mountains and less people thronging to the cafes and outdoor shops in the area, england (in the right light) can also be spectacular

and its home!

this is ted topping out the honister pass that, while being crazy steep for the first mile, was actually a lot shorter and easier than expected.
