London 2012!

Today, the Olympic torch arrived in Aberdeen. The crowds were enormous for the evenings entertainment and as we waited for the procession to come into sight, I noticed this couple stood behind us. Wrapped in his foil blanket and leaning heavily on his walking frame, I could still see the excitement on his face, and this was 30 minutes before the torch arrived. I went over to ask if they minded having their photo taken, and, bearing in mind i had the 100-400 lens on the camera, I think it made them feel really special. Sadly, I omitted to take their names.

As the torch finally went past, I took all of the usual photo's that we've been seeing on blip and in the press- the gold, the tracksuits, the crowds, the waving etc, etc, but it was this image that to me showed the true spirit of what the games really means.
