The Gatekeeper

This art installation arrived in 2002 at the flats in New Gorbals.

It consists of a large (one and a half tons) suspended bronze sculpture above a massive photograph, and below that a crypt.

The statue was also knows as the 'Angel with the Bleeding Hand' after a crack in the bronze allowed rain water which had turned a reddish brown colour to come through the hand.
