Lyveden, Northamptonshire. An unfinished dream!
Set in the heart of rural Northamptonshire, the mysterious Lyveden is arguably the finest example of an original Tudor garden. Designed by Sir Thomas Tresham, it was left unfinished when it was abandoned upon his death in 1605. His eldest son Francis was to become implicated in the Gunpowder Plot to assassinate King James 1, and so Lyveden has remained incomplete for over 400 years.
It is now a National Trust property.
