Smokies!!

Had a follow up visit today from the Farmers' Market I organised at Southmuir Primary School a few months ago.

The visit was to Arbroath Fisheries and a batch of smokies were ready just as the kids arrived. The kids saw the smokies and smoked haddock being smoked and saw the fish being prepared before hand. They also got to try smokies straight out of the smoker and 4 smokies disappeared very rapidly, so I think there are some real converts to these tasty local specialities!

Having bought smokies and slamon and smokie pates back from my visit to do the risk assessment, this time I brought home hot smoked salmon so the kids and I had some as a stir fry for tea tonight - yum!!
