The "Southern General" hospital, Glasgow
This is our new local hospital - it is simply massive. I've never seen anything like it (Note the helipad on the roof).
In the main foyer there's a range of fast food outlets including an M&S Simply Food outlet. Patients use touch screens to sign in and to admit themselves to wards.
It is quite unbelievable and looks more like a fancy Hong Kong hotel than a Glasgow hospital.
And it has been controversial. Parking for staff has been a nightmare and the official name "The Queen Elizabeth University Hospital" hasn't gone down so well in some quarters. To most of us it'll continue to be known as "the Southern."
